City Barbeque - Delaware: Authentic, Flavorful BBQ & Friendly Service in Ohio

Absolutely delicious, I was so impressed with the quality and texture of the meats. Very tasty and upscale. The staff that was on duty the day I was in were very kind and generous to me. It was my first experience there and Jeremy was absolutely helpful and even gave me a tasty treat to go along with my meal. Philip the manager I assume, approached me with a friendly tone seeing if I was doing well and needed anything. It seems to me City BBQ in Delaware got it going on! I visited on November 10, 2025 @1 PM I highly recommend this place for delicious, delightful and divine barbecue, sides and treats.

Enjoyed a great full rack of St. Louis Ribs with the wife today for lunch at the City BBQ in Delaware Ohio. The ribs were flavor full, tender and it easily feed two people. The green beans were fine, and the fried bread I can't resist... My spouse got the Cobb Salad which she really enjoyed. For a chain restaurant the food is well above average overall. The weather was perfect so we enjoyed the large covered patio. This is a newer location with a slightly more open upscale feel. The staff member who took our order was friendly and our food was ready in a timely manner. 4 Stars!

I will admit that when I walked in , I almost walked right back out. There was no BBQ sauce on the tables, which is a red flag for me at BBQ places. But, we were hungry and decided to give it a whirl. It was good, well overpriced but good. Use the app, and you can get a deal. They actually did have BBQ sauce kind of hidden at the end of the line. But the bottles of sauce were filthy disgusting, so we skipped the sauce, which is super disappointing. Still, the food was so good without the sauce that we quickly got over it. I had a 3 meat sampler with Brisket, pulled pork and chicken. I loved it. My daughter had a pulled pork sandwich that only cost 25 cents when you download the app. I would love to go back and try it with the sauce. They did have real BBQ pits going in there, and the staff was super friendly. The wait between ordering and getting your food was a little longer than is comfortable ,but typical of BBQ joints. Update: City BBQ doesn't actually read these reviews before they respond to them.

Stopped here while traveling through Ohio to grab a sandwich. Always wanted to try a hot Nashville, so that’s what I got. Since it was my first time, had nothing to compare the taste with except for a Chick fil A spicy. The main ingredient in a chicken sandwich is the chicken, and the breaded filet in the City BBQ sandwich wasn’t that great. A bit overcooked and dry. The coleslaw was skimpy but good. It was lunchtime, and the place was very busy, so I waited ten minutes for my sandwich even though I was second in line to order. Other customers were already waiting at tables. The interior was spacious and looked like a bbq joint. Given how busy they were for Tuesday lunch, their food must be good overall, so I may stop by again and order something else.

Good BBQ!! Manager was very helpful with questions that we had and explained everything perfectly!!!! We appreciate when management and staff are knowledgeable and helpful!! I had the City Sampler, Beef brisket, pulled pork, Texas-Style sausage, turkey breast, two sides, and Texas toast and everything was great!!!! Clean restaurant and helpful staff. Overall a great experience!!!!

I really enjoyed my meal at City Barbeque. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The smell alone got me salivating! Our son said Their Strawberry Cobbler was exquisite! He kept raving about it. My husband and I had the 2 x 2 Sampler. Choice of 2 meats and 2 sides. I was pleasantly surprised how good and flavorful and a tiny bit spicy the collards were. My husband’s Pork Bellies were good too. There were 2 tiny drawbacks though. The sauces were at the silverware station instead of the tables. There were 4 choices: sweet, spicy, original and Swine Wine ( vinegar sauce). Also they got our food mixed up on trays. I mean we got all the right food just mixed up on the trays. The meat was lukewarm too. I’d still go back. Tender and delicious!
